In recent years, we have witnessed a sharp and alarming escalation in the scope, frequency, and severity of cyber threats and attacks. These are fueled by the relentless determination and increasing sophistication of hostile foreign states, intelligence services, cybercriminals, and malicious actors. Their intent is to infiltrate, disrupt, and exploit our digital infrastructure—undermining our institutions, national security, and economy.

These attacks have exposed significant gaps and vulnerabilities across commercial and government IT systems. More importantly, they highlight a critical reality: no single organization, on its own, possesses the full range of technical expertise, capabilities, and solutions needed to effectively counter these threats.

Confronting today’s existing and evolving cyber threats demands an all-sector approach—uniting industry, government, academia, and nonprofits to innovate, develop, and implement effective solutions and technologies.

This strategic vision is what led to the formation of the Alliance to Strengthen Cybersecurity in 2024.

By marshalling the deep knowledge, capabilities, and resources of Alliance members as experts across multiple technology sectors, we form a united force and front to identify and deter the most complex and dangerous cyber risks and attacks. We address urgent, sector-specific—or cross-sector—cyber challenges facing commercial and government stakeholders. 

At the Alliance, we assemble cross-sector teams—from industry, government, and nonprofits—mobilizing the expertise and capabilities required to innovate, develop, and deploy tailored, cutting-edge technologies that detect and can deter cyber threats in supply chain components, the risk level of each supply chain component being stored in a secure repository.

Our proactive efforts and initiatives not only safeguard and strengthen cybersecurity—they also protect and enhance national, homeland, and economic security, as well as public safety.
